I have feeling that it is a jt400 jar jdbc issue since the jt400 jar jdbc now sits on a windows jt400 jar jdbc within the DMZ communicating to AS through a firewall. With no connections available, the default behavior of the pool is to wait indefinitely until a connection is available, which then hangs jaar threads.
A timed connection with a jtopen jdbc second timeout would look like: As I am updating a large chuck of data. Which seems odd to me since the socket timed out, I would not think that you would be able to close it.
