Good color and image quality, good shutter response, and more features than you can shake a stick at combine with typical ISO noise performance to produce a camera that a full auto user can take up with confidence.

However, the LCD on the DSC-H50 is large and easy to see, and can be positioned up or down, which is nice when taking a photo at an awkward angle or close to the ground.
In the field, I found it frustrating to wait for focusing so I always prefocused by half-pressing the Shutter button, as I do for any long zoom racked out to its full telephoto focal length. This camera is a very god camera.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H50 Review
Long zooms like the Sony Cyber-shot H50 are bulkier than the slip-in-your pocket ultracompacts, but they’re built to get you comfortably close to wildlife and sports action, something no cute digital camera can do.
The key feature for me is the nightshot capability. You press the Sony H50’s Menu button to affect settings peculiar to that operational mode.
